📖 Introduction

OpenClaw is a powerful AI automation agent platform. It supports multi-channel message integration (such as Discord, Telegram, WhatsApp, etc.) and provides rich tool extension capabilities.

With OpenClaw, you can quickly build AI-powered chatbots, automated workflows, and intelligent assistants.

⚙️ System Requirements

Component Requirement Notes
Node.js Node 24 recommended (Node 22.14+ supported) Required
API Key Anthropic / OpenAI / Google, etc. At least one model provider
Windows Native Windows or WSL2 WSL2 is more stable, recommended
💡 Check Node Version

Run node --version to check your Node.js version.

Quick Install

Run Onboarding

Verify Installation

💡 Quick Start

The onboarding process will help you select a model provider, set up API keys, and configure Gateway. The entire process takes about 2 minutes.

💡 Windows Support

OpenClaw supports both native Windows and WSL2. WSL2 is more stable and recommended for the full experience.

Native Windows Installation

🔧 Configure BeeHears API

During onboarding, you can choose a custom API endpoint to use BeeHears service:

💡 Supported Channels

OpenClaw supports multiple messaging channels including Discord, Feishu, iMessage, Matrix, Microsoft Teams, Signal, Slack, Telegram, WhatsApp, Zalo, and more.

Common Commands

  • openclaw onboard - Run configuration wizard
  • openclaw gateway status - Check Gateway status
  • openclaw gateway start - Start Gateway
  • openclaw gateway stop - Stop Gateway
  • openclaw dashboard - Open control panel
  • openclaw --help - View help

First-time Usage Flow

  1. Run openclaw onboard --install-daemon
  2. Select a model provider (Anthropic/OpenAI/Google, etc.)
  3. Enter your API key
  4. Verify Gateway is running
  5. Open Dashboard and send your first message
